2023 LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS!
Below you will find the link with all of the Local Scholarships that we have. Pay close attention to deadlines as well as how and where to send applications.
There may be a few more Scholarships that come in and as soon as they do I will add them to the sheet. You can also find the link on the Counselor's page on the Royse City ISD website.
New To The College Tour?
Below you will find four classes to help students learn about and navigate their higher education journey. Each class is video-based, using segments from The College Tour TV series. All videos in the class are told by real college students. The classes are free, and for all ages, from middle school to high school students to adult learners. We have also found that teachers, counselors, and parents see value in taking these classes in order to have educated conversations with young people about their college search.
PSAT+ Khan Academy

SAT & ACT Score report sends
If you do decide to list "college codes" on the day of the test and then decide you don't want them sent, you can withdraw by contacting College Board or ACT.
Side note: once a college sees your scores, they can't un-see them.

Resources on Non-Suicidal Self-Injury
During the session on Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, several of you asked for resources that you could share. The Cornell Research Program on Self-Injury and Recovery has a page with resources broken into different categories, including who you can share with. Here are some additional resources:

*NEW* The National Suicide Prevention Line
Starting July 16h The National Suicide Prevention Line is changing! The once 11-digit number is now shortened to three digits 9-8-8. When people call or text #988 they will be connected to trained counselors with the lifeline network.
In 2020, Congress designated the new 988 dialing code to operate through the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s (1-800-273-8255) network of over 200 locally operated and funded crisis centers across the country. On July 16, 2022, the U.S. will transition to using the 988-dialing code, offering an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen and expand the existing Lifeline. The vision for 988 is to have additional crisis services available in communities across the nation, much the way emergency medical services work.
As 988 rolls out across the country it is vital that the unique needs of children, youth and young adults are considered to ensure that crisis response services are not traumatizing for children, services are age and developmentally appropriate, and services stabilize the situation to keep children in their homes and with their families.
