eBooks for At Home Reading
The iACT Department has put together a list of many eBook websites, containing hundreds of books for our students to read online. Below you’ll see information and links to these websites. Each of our district librarians have become well-versed with all of these sites. For questions/help with these resources, refer to the librarian associated with each one.
On most of these sites, students and families can search by reading level. Make sure to search for the appropriate leveled book for your student. Your student's teacher will always know their current reading level, if you do not have this information.
RCISD uses a leveling system referred to as Fountas & Pinnell (F & P) to learn the reading level of each student. If an eBook site refers to a different reading level system, such as DRA or Lexile, refer to this chart to learn the F&P letter that corresponds each of these 2 other systems.
We recommend initially using Benchmark Universe, the first site on the list, because of the ease of finding the appropriate leveled books for your student. First you’ll need to make a free account at this site: https://bit.ly/3aMoPIT. Afterward the login page can be found here: https://library.benchmarkuniverse.com/
