I am Richard Pense and I am excited your child is attending our amazing new campus.  This is my 25th year in education and my 14th year as a campus administrator.  I have been a RCISD employee since 1999.  I also raised my family right here in Wood Creek, and both of my children have attended Royse City ISD for their education.

Our school is named for such an inspiring man who continues to be a servant leader in our community.  You may see Mr. Summers around the campus, encouraging students to be kind and do their best.  You will definitely hear his excitement and enthusiasm as the “Voice of Royse,”  announcing Bulldog football games.   Mr. Summers hopes that his school will provide a high quality education in a friendly environment where students can “develop the strength and grit to face the challenges of life.”

What I love most about being principal is helping students find success and inspiring staff to give their best for kids. We have a great team of professionals who are passionate about your child and committed to building strong hearts and strong minds in the spirit of innovation. It is my hope that the future ready learning experiences we provide, will better prepare your student for high school and will also inspire them to get closer to finding their passion and purpose in life.
