HOW FAST IS ROYSE CITY ISD GROWING?
Royse City ISD is projected to grow by a minimum of 6% per year for the next 10 years. Enrollment as of January 2021 is 6,945 and the district is expected to exceed 11,000 students by 2030. Demographer reports show that 17,000 future residential lots exist within the boudaries of Royse City ISD. See enrollment forecasts and district mapping below.

WILL MY TAXES GO UP AS A RESULT OF THIS BOND ELECTION?
No. Royse City ISD's tax rate of $1.4648 will not change as a result of this election. Royse City ISD does not control the value of your home. The graph below show's Royse City ISD's measures to lower the property tax rate over the past few years.
Thousands of new homes and increases in commercial development will increase Royse City ISD's property tax base and fund the Bond 2021 projects without any increase to your tax rate.

WHAT WILL VOTERS SEE ON THE BALLOT?
Royse City ISD voters will see two propositions on the ballot for Royse City ISD Bonds that address growth in student enrollment and programming. Texas Legislature requires school to separate projects based for voter consideration.
PROPOSITION A
$225,020,000 for construction, aquisition, rehabilitation, renovation, expansion, improvement and equipment of school buildings, including related road and infrastructure improvements, and the purchase of the necessary sites for school buildings.PROPOSITION B
$4,980,000 for the construction, aquisition, rehabilitation, renovation, expansion, improvement and equipment of athletic stadium facilities in the district.NEW! BALLOT LANGUAGE
Required by state law, both propostions will include required langage stating "This is a property tax increase". However, the Royse City ISD 2021 Bond will NOT INCREASE the district's property tax rate. Royse City ISD does not control property taxes or property values. -
IS THE PAST BOND COMPLETE?
Yes. Royse City ISD voters approved a $60 million bond referendum in May of 2018. Resulting were Bobby Summers Middle School and upgrades to existing campuses across the district.

WHERE WILL THE NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS BE LOCATED?
Cherry Elementary will be relocated to a school site within Verandah Estates.
Elementary #7 will likely be built in the southern portion of Royse City ISD's boundary.
Elementary #8 is to be determined and based upon the pace and number of homes planned within housing developments across the district.
Royse City ISD benefits from great relationship with the City of Royse City and the City of Fate to connect with developers on identifying school sites for neighborhood schools.

WHEN WILL ROYSE CITY ISD NEED A SECOND HIGH SCHOOL?
If voters approve Bond 2021, the capacity of Royse City High School will increase from 1,900 to 2,700 effectively extending the ability for a single high school.
Included in Bond 2021 is land for high school #2 to be located in Fate, Texas. The date for the construction of the 2nd high school will be dependent upon enrollment growth and property value growth within the district.

HOW WAS THE BOND DEVELOPED?
A diverse committee of students, parents, grandparents, community members and staff convened in the Fall of 2020 to study enrollment trends and facilities. The Bond Steering Committee considered demographics, housing forecasts and district finances as they prepared the bond components. The committee's final recommendation was presented to the Royse City ISD School Board on January 11, 2021. On February 8, 2021, the board unanimously approved their recommendations and called for a school bond election.
