Help us congratulate Assistant Superintendent Kenny Kaye Hudson on her upcoming retirement. After serving the children, families and staff of Royse City ISD for the last 24 years, Mrs. Hudson has accepted a position with the Flippen Group as part of the amazing Capturing Kids’ Hearts Team.

With a total of 35 years in education, her roles have ranged from special education teacher , assistant principal to special education and federal programs director and eventually assistant superintendent overseeing special programs, special education, bilingual education, dyslexia services, student information systems, grants, and much more. Mrs. Hudson was part of the original group of educators in Royse City ISD to be trained in Capturing Kids’ Hearts in 2003. Since that time, more than 1,000 educators have been trained in this transformational professional development and culture building program. Mrs. Hudson has been at the center of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts movement in Royse City ISD.

In her new role as Leadership Development Strategist at Capturing Kids’ Hearts, she will travel to schools and districts across the United States to train educators on building relationships and transform school cultures.

“Serving the students, staff and families of Royse City ISD has been an incredible honor and an amazing journey over the last 24 years. Leaving RCISD has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but getting the chance to work with other school districts and campuses across Texas and other states is a very exciting opportunity.  I will be able to tell the Royse City story of its success with Capturing Kids Hearts and the great leadership that is in place. I have made so many lasting friendships in the district and I will miss seeing them everyday, but I will not be far away,” said Mrs. Hudson.

On the retirement, Superintendent Kevin Worthy said, “There is no doubt that Mrs. Hudson exemplifies the heart of Royse City ISD. She has impacted countless students and staff as she has served this school district and community. She will be sorely missed throughout the district, yet we are so excited to see her continue with Capturing Kids’ Hearts. On behalf of the school board and staff of Royse City ISD we want to say thank you and congratulations!”

A retirement reception for Mrs. Hudson will be held on Monday, August 16 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bobby Summers Middle School located at 2050 CD Boren Parkway in Fate, Texas.
