Royse City ISD is pleased to announce that Coach Dallas Bookout has been approved as the new RCISD Director of Athletics overseeing all boys and girls athletics in the district. Bookout has 23 years of experience in teaching and coaching, including 14 years in Royse City ISD. He holds a bachelor's degree from East Texas State University. 

Regarding his new role, Bookout said, “I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to lead such a great athletic program with such great kids and fantastic coaches, in what I consider to be the best school district in the state.  As I have said before, we have some outstanding coaches who do such a great job and I look forward to supporting them and helping them to reach the goals we have set for this athletic program.  I am also excited about the opportunity to bring our boys and girls programs into a new era of 6A athletics. We have some amazing student-athletes who are up for the challenge!”

Under this new structure, the RCISD Athletic Director will oversee a boys athletic director and girls athletic director. The district is set to compete in 6A athletics for the first time in district history starting in the 2022-2023 school year.
